Indigenous Studies 30: Canadian Studies is based on the premise that distinct perspectives are common, that diversity of truth exists, and that he motivations for most behaviors and attitudes may be traced to the worldviews and philosophical orientations of people. Within Aboriginal philosophy, four dimensions of human nature (mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical) are identified and viewed as interrelated. These are developed through personal commitment. This course advocates a holistic, inquiry-based, activity-oriented approach. The aim of Indigenous Studies is to develop personal awareness and cultural understanding and to promote the development of positive attitudes in all students towards Indigenous peoples.
