English Language Arts 4 Course Information
This course is designed to fulfill the curricular objectives of the Saskatchewan Grade 4 English Language Arts curriculum. The course is divided into five units of study.
Each unit of study contains short story and poetry readings (audio included for majority of text) a complete spelling program, grammar tasks with worksheets and answer keys, videos and activities of their own. No additional text or book is required as everything is provided for you within the course. ~ everything. Within each unit, there are a variety of assignments and quizzes.
Unit One: My Friends and I (7 weeks)
Children need to believe in their own self-worth and to feel that they have control over the things that happen to them. Children need to look inward and focus on self-image and self-esteem. They need to reflect on self and life, and on their beliefs, values, and those of their society.

Unit Two: First Peoples (6 weeks)
Children need to look outward and examine their relationships with others, their community, and the world. Children also need to consider the social and historical context. They need to explore their connections in families, schools, groups, and communities and to understand the diverse needs and wants of others. Children need to show concern for other people in their relationships, groups, and communities.

Unit Three: A World of Tales (8 weeks)
Children need to consider imaginary worlds and possibilities as well as a range of literary genres and authors.

Unit Four: On With the Show (4 weeks)
