Career and Work Exploration
Career and Work Exploration is a credit program which integrates academic studies with work experience in the community.
This class offers students an opportunity to discover and develop their unique abilities. This personalized approach to education allows participants to explore the various post-secondary and career options available to them.
The program is divided into two parts, classroom instruction and the work experience itself. The classroom instruction fosters an understanding of self-awareness and emphasizes the importance of personal management. Other areas of study include the value of career research, understanding and working through the application process, employability and of course safety in the workplace. Our outcomes are simple --students develop industry contacts, build confidence and workplace skills. We offer a very flexible approach to meet student scheduling needs.
The number of work placement hours required to complete the class depends upon the credit level the candidate is seeking, with a range of hours between 30 and 80.
