STF Sanctions UPDATE - June 16, 2024

June 17, 2024
STF Job Action Update announcement

On Friday, June 14, 2024, the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) announced they are ending job action Friday, June 14, 2024, at 4 pm.

All GSCS schools will return to regularly scheduled classes and transportation times starting Monday, June 17, 2024. Noon lunch supervision will also resume.

After polling its members (teachers across Saskatchewan), the STF has accepted the government’s invitation to have a third-party arbitrator settle outstanding items between the two parties.

The arbitration process is expected to take several weeks, if not months. There will be no further sanctions. The arbitrator's decisions will be legally binding.

For those of you who have paid the noon lunch supervision fee, the division is reviewing missed days and will communicate compensation plans directly to those families.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we have navigated sanctions over the past few months.

Sincerely,
François Rivard,
Director of Education
