* Lenten 40 Run/Walk Meeting! - TODAY
We are days away from the April 12th 40 k run/walk and are so excited to have several Holy Cross teams ready to go! Please meet this Thursday, April 3rd at 12:15 in Mr. Malin's room (103) for an important meeting for all Holy Cross student and staff participants! At the meeting, we will finalize any outstanding teams, talk about plans for the 12th and sign out singlets for the race. If you have questions or would like to sign up to run/walk, come to the meeting! We'd love to have you join us!
* Calling al Canadians aged 16 -18!
Working a Federal Election is a great learning experience for students aged 16-18. It will allow you to witness democracy first-hand, understand how the electoral system works and contribute as an active citizen.
You’ll be able to build your resume and get paid (even for your training). For more details about working at the Federal Election and how to apply, please stop by the main office for additional information.

For all ages - even if you're not yet 18 and old enough to vote. The Elections Canada reps will be here to give a short presentation and answer any questions you may have about voting in Canada. Please sign up at the main office so we know numbers.

Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend!
Yearbook
There will be a yearbook meeting in the Mac Lab TODAY at lunch! All students are welcome to join. See Mr. Moroz (rm 132) if you have any questions.

Graduation
Senior Hiking Trip
Calling all Grade 12's, our senior hiking trip is quickly approaching, and this year we are visiting beautiful Fernie, BC! Our first meeting to distribute the information is on Monday, April 14th, at lunch in Room 373 (Mr. Wihak's class). If you can't attend this meeting, please speak to Mr. Wihak, Mr. Patzer, Mr. Schnitzler, Ms. Smith, or Ms. Sherven because the forms and deposit are due once we return from the Easter break.
Graduation Photo Retakes
Photographers from Edge Imaging will be at the school to take Graduation Photos on April 9th, 2025, in the library for any student who missed the first round or would like retakes.

Our Holy Cross Truth and Reconciliation Group will meet this Thursday April 3rd at lunch in room 294. All are welcome! We will do some planning for MMIWG day that is coming up in May.

* Outdoor Ed
Spring Canoe Trip
If you are interested in our canoe trip this spring, you need to be at our first meeting, which is on Thursday, April 10th, right after period 5 (12:35 pm) in Room 105 (Mme Vermette's class). This activity is open to grade 9 to 11 students. If you can't attend the meeting, please speak to Mme Vermette, Mrs. Rodych, Mr. Rapin, or Mr. Wihak because the forms and deposit are due once we return from the Easter break.

Gathering this Friday (April 4) at lunch in the Chapel. Please be there to hear our exciting news about the Turn Debt into Hope campaign, and our involvement in Multicultural Week!! If you have not been a part of LYNGr before, you can still get involved! For more information, speak with Mrs. Dale, or check out our Edsby group.
Beading Club
Holy Cross’ beading club is back! Starting in April, swing by room 120 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at lunch to learn how and to complete different beading projects. This club is open to staff and students of all cultural backgrounds. See Ms. Climenhaga for more details.
Robot Rumble
Robot Rumble participants will meet in room 321 at lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Faith and Science
We meet Wednesdays at lunch. The focus of our discussions will be the relationship between faith and physics. It should be fun. Come check it out in room 249 (Mr. Cratty's room)! There will be a video followed by discussion.
Holy Cross Youth Alliance
Our 2SLGBTQ+ Alliance Group meets every Thursday lunch hour in room 361. All students and staff are welcome to join us!
Knitting Club
The knitting and stitching club will be meeting in room 111 on Fridays at noon. See you there!
Holy Cross Chess & Games Club
If you would like to learn how to play chess, you can come to room 333 during the lunch hours. We meet every lunch hour. Games club runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in room 122.
** Rosary Group
For the next week, Rosary Group will meet on Wednesdays - April 9. The next Monday Rosary will be April 14. Please meet in room 136 right after school for some fun and fellowship making rosaries. We have all the supplies and instructions that you will need. You can count these hours for your CAP. See you there. Any questions, see Mrs. Dale.
Athletics
** Track & Field
Track practice on Wednesdays will be from 3:30-4:30 in the North Gym and will be for grades 9 and 10 ONLY.
Remember, to be eligible for track season you need to:
- Pay your fees to Mr.Vause or the office.
- Register for track through SSSAD.net.
Driver’s Ed
** There is still plenty of space for students in the after-school class starting May 26th so register ASAP.
Don’t forget to keep checking the schedule for updates on your drives.
This information is for students who have not enrolled in the driver's education program who will soon turn 15 or have already turned 15.
A driver education program is offered for students at Holy Cross High School through a partnership with Leap Professional Driving School Ltd (LPDSL).

New Scholarship for Grade 12 Graduating Students
The Canadian Forces Family Scholarship from the Bridge City SaskTel Pioneers is for a student that is in Grade 12 and in good academic standing. The student must be a child or dependent of a current or former serving member of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). Student must provide proof of parent or guardian’s service in the CAF such as a copy of a Military Service Identification Card, a Veteran’s Service Card, or a Certificate of Service. Need some tutoring & homework help?
Tutors from the University of Saskatchewan, and Advance courses and IB programmers from High Schools will be joining us at Holy Cross on regular Thursdays after school. Come and get help with your homework and/or studying in all subject areas.
Sessions are from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. in the library.
School Nurse
Our school nurse, Jenna Braaton will be here Monday afternoons from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm. The school nurse can help you with the following:
- Confidential one-on-one student supports with medical & health related matters.
- Referrals to other community agencies/supports.
- General first-aid
- Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed.
Students can also text the school nurse at 639-471-8202. Look for the school nurse sign in the hallway and stop in to ask a question, book an appointment or to just say hello!
