General Notices
** The doors at the east end of the commons going to the pavilion will be locked for the next few days for safety reasons as there is a lots of ice in that area. Thanks for your understanding.
**An important reminder to cross the street only at the crosswalk locations on Taylor Street and McEown Avenue. Thanks for your cooperation!
**Please note there has been theft in the PE change rooms so please ensure you lock up your belongings.
* Final Assessments
A reminder of the schedule for final assessment time and for all students to please review the semester end memo (it was sent through Edsby).

During the optional supported open learning time from Jan 21 - 24, teachers will be available for extra help and support. Students may attend any of their classes open learning time on any day. Teachers will be available in their regular space from 1:00 – 2:15 pm or communicate to the students where they will be located. Students who remain at school after 1:00 pm are expected to be working in a classroom.
* Library Closed
This is a reminder that library is closed during finals for Grad phots and will not be open over the lunch hour. We will be open for individual printing only.
* Light a Candle
Do you feel like you might need a bit of Divine Intervention during this week of Assessments? Then feel free to come to the Chapel and light a candle for yourself starting at 8:15 on Tuesday. Mrs. Dale or a different teacher will be in the Chapel each morning praying for your needs. God bless you during this important time of your education! 🙏🕯️
* Football
Attention all players, there will be an equipment sign-out happening on Thursday, Jan 23 at lunch, immediately after the Period 3 Assessment time. This is for all Junior/Senior players who are signing up for camps. Please meet upstairs in the gym combative room for the equipment.
* Earn a University Biology Credit in Semester 2!
If you would like to explore the possibility of taking Biology 120.3 (a USASK credit) at BJM high school in semester 2 this year, please come to Student Services ASAP to look at your options.
Scent Free School
An important reminder that we have staff and students with allergies to scents. Please do not bring scented sprays to school and please do not wear scents to school as it affects others. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Smudging
Everyone is welcome to come to the courtyard to take part in smudging at 8:15 am on Tuesdays and Fridays all year.
Homework Hall Tutorial
Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend!
SRC
Matchmaker Forms
The SRC would like to announce the return of matchmaker forms this year! As a new feature the form will be available online using a QR code. The QR code is posted at the SRC room and can be accessed by all Holy Cross students at breaks and at lunch. The code will be available starting Friday January 17th and will stay available until Friday January 25th. All students will be able to complete the form one time only. Results will be tabulated, and a printout of your matches will be sold for $2.50 in the week leading up to Valentine’s Day. Don't miss out on finding your most compatible friend matches at school and complete the form using the QR code!!
Cafeteria

Holy Cross Youth Alliance
Our 2SLGBTQ+ Alliance Group meets every Thursday lunch hour in room 361. All students and staff are welcome to join us!
Knitting Club
The knitting and stitching club will be meeting in room 111 on Fridays at noon. See you there!
Holy Cross Chess & Games Club
If you would like to learn how to play chess, you can come to room 333 during the lunch hours. We meet every lunch hour. Games club runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in room 122.
Rosary Group
The Rosary Group will be meeting Mondays. Please meet in the chapel right after school for some fun and fellowship making rosaries. We have all the supplies and instructions that you will need. You can count these hours for your CAP. See you there. Any questions, see Mrs. Dale.

SIEC Spotlight on Careers events in February: Law and Business & Entrepreneurship. Application deadlines are Feb 5 and Feb 12, respectively.
Survivor 101 – group program for youth ages 14-18 experiencing issues related to violence and/or mental health challenges. Offered Tuesdays 4:30-5:30 from February – June at Saskatoon Community Service Village. Youth Ambassadors Program – 2.5-week exchange program to the United States. Applications due February 9, 2025.
McGill Summer Academy offers a 2-week academic summer camp held on McGill University’s downtown campus. Application deadline: March 1
School Nurse
Our school nurse, Maegan Holder will be here Monday afternoons from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm. The school nurse can help you with the following:
- Confidential one-on-one student supports with medical & health related matters.
- Referrals to other community agencies/supports.
- General first-aid
- Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed.
Students can also text the school nurse at 639-471-8202. Look for the school nurse sign in the hallway and stop in to ask a question, book an appointment or to just say hello!
