General Notices 

** The doors at the east end of the commons going to the pavilion will be locked for the next few days for safety reasons as there is a lots of ice in that area. Thanks for your understanding.

 

** A reminder to staff and students that we are a scent free school. There are individuals in our school with allergies who are affected by the scents. Thank you for your cooperation!

** If you are going to miss any final assessments from January 21 – 27, you must meet with Ms. Hayes at the main office to make alternate arrangements.


* Locker Clean-Up

Please make sure to take out all food contents/containers from your lockers prior to the Christmas break.  Thank you for your cooperation!

 

* Brevoort Park Community Association Volunteer Opportunities

- outdoor rink supervision at scheduled public skating times. Free ice time for skaters, can turn on the tunes and open up the warmup shack for 2 hour shifts.

- newsletter content and assembly. Students could contribute as little as a school update, editorial piece, or have complete creative control over the newsletter. 

- social media content creator. Create and post updates to our social media platforms. 

- event support. Our next event is a bingo night. Help would look like selling sheets at the front door, selling food at the event, or distributing prizes.

* Remai Modern

We have an exciting free program, called Youth Art Night.

  • When: Every Thursday, 4–6 PM
  • Where: Learning Studio (Level 1) at Remai Modern
  • Who: Youth aged 14–20. All levels are welcome!
  • Cost: Free
  • Extras: All supplies and snacks are provided. Plus, on the last Thursday of each month, we put on a video in the background and enjoy popcorn together!

 

* Free Tickets

Great news hockey fans!! We are fortunate to have several players from the Saskatoon Contacts U18 AAA team attend Holy Cross. On Saturday, December 21st the Contacts will go head-to-head with their cross-town rivals, the Saskatoon Blazers at Merlis Belsher Place. There are free tickets available at the office. 

This being a special time of the year, they will also be collecting food items for the Saskatoon Food Bank so make sure to bring a non-perishable food item with you,

 

* Last Day to drop Semester 1 classes

The last day to remove a semester 1 class from your schedule will be January 10th at 3:30 PM. If you need to drop a class, please come to Student Services to get a drop form before that day if you need to remove a class. 


Smudging

Everyone is welcome to come to the courtyard to take part in smudging at 8:15 am on Tuesdays and Fridays all year.


Homework Hall Tutorial 

Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend!

Clubs


Holy Cross Youth Alliance

Our 2SLGBTQ+ Alliance Group meets every Thursday lunch hour in room 361. All students and staff are welcome to join us! 


Knitting Club 

The knitting and stitching club will be meeting in room 111 on Fridays at noon. See you there!


Holy Cross Chess & Games Club 

If you would like to learn how to play chess, you can come to room 333 during the lunch hours. We meet every lunch hour. Games club runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in room 122.


Rosary Group

The Rosary Group will be meeting Mondays.  Please meet in Room 241 (Lepage/Dale) right after school for some fun and fellowship making rosaries.  We have all the supplies and instructions that you will need.  You can count these hours for your CAP. See you there.  Any questions, see Mrs. Dale.

Jeux de la Francophonie Canadienne 2025 !! – Dernier jour !!!

Les Jeux sont un des plus grands rassemblements de la jeunesse française au Canada avec au-dessus de 1200 participants qui parle le français de chaque coin du pays! C'est une expérience unique où célébrer notre langue nous permet de compétitionner dans une discipline pour laquelle on est passionné.

Équipe Sask cherche toujours des participants. On est seulement à 50% capacité qui veut dire qu'il a beaucoup d'espace pour VOUS de joindre Équipe Sask!

 

À date on a 2 jeunes de votre école inscrit pour Équipe Sask et on adorera avoir plus de vos étudiants sur Équipe Saskatchewan.


 Ce vendredi est votre dernière chance à s'inscrire à Équipe Sask!

School Nurse 

Our school nurse, Maegan Holder will be here Monday afternoons from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm. The school nurse can help you with the following:

  • Confidential one-on-one student supports with medical & health related matters.
  • Referrals to other community agencies/supports.
  • General first-aid
  • Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed.

Students can also text the school nurse at 639-471-8202. Look for the school nurse sign in the hallway and stop in to ask a question, book an appointment or to just say hello!
