General Notices
*Basketball Score keeping Sign Up - TODAY
If you are interested in being a basketball score keeper this year, please come to room 341 TODAY right after school. Junior game score keepers are paid $15 per game. Senior game score keepers are paid $20 per game. (Sometimes there are two to three games in one day).
Students on Spare
Students on spare should be working in the commons or library, not be in the hallways. Thanks for your cooperation!
Library News
With the weather getting colder the library will be in more demand during the lunch hour. Remember the library is meant to be a workspace during this time, and not a space for hanging out with friends or relaxing on smartphones.
Smudging
Everyone is welcome to come to the courtyard to take part in smudging at 8:15 am on Tuesdays and Fridays all year.
Homework Hall Tutorial
Would you like help from a teacher with your homework in a quiet space? Homework Hall tutorial time takes place each lunch hour in Room 341 (Mr. Heath's room). All students are welcome to attend!
Student Access to the School
The school is open on regular school days for students from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm. Families and students should arrange for their children to be picked up by 4:00 pm unless they have a planned extracurricular activity with a staff supervisor. If you do not have an extracurricular activity, you need to leave the building by 4pm. Thank you for your cooperation!
Music
* Jazz Band
There will be a jazz band rehearsal AFTER SCHOOL (12:30pm) TODAY in the second band room.
* Music Department Fundraiser
All students attending a music tour either to Edmonton or Calgary/Banff must participate in our Fundscrip fundraiser. Please see Ms. Reynolds in the band room to receive a paper copy or see Edsby.
Grade 9's may also begin fundraising for future tours.
The deadline to hand in the order forms is Friday, November 22nd.
Musical
* Set Painting
The weekly schedule is posted on Edsby, please take note, and come on your assigned day. Contact Ms Langford or Ms Ramsay if there are any errors.
🎭 Volunteers Needed for Musical Ticket Sales! 🎟️
Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to get involved with our school’s upcoming musical, Anastasia? We are on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to help with ticket sales!
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in selling tickets the week before the show and the nights of the play Dec. 5th 6th and 7th.
- Gain valuable experience and community service hours that count towards your CAP project hours.

* Living in Harmony
Holy Cross' Truth and Reconciliation group will have our next meeting on Friday November 22nd at lunch in room 294. Everyone is welcome!
Holy Cross Youth Alliance
Our 2SLGBTQ+ Alliance Group meets every Thursday lunch hour in room 361. All students and staff are welcome to join us!
Knitting Club
The knitting and stitching club will be meeting in room 111 on Fridays at noon. See you there!
Holy Cross Chess & Games Club
Chess club will meet at noon in room 333 every day. Games club will meet at noon in room 122 Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Rosary Group
The Rosary Group will be meeting Mondays. Please meet in Room 241 (Lepage/Dale) right after school for some fun and fellowship making rosaries. We have all the supplies and instructions that you will need. You can count these hours for your CAP. See you there. Any questions, see Mrs. Dale.
Athletics
* Junior Girls Basketball
The list for the final tryout has been posted in the Phys Ed hallway. If your name is on the list, be at the gym at 5:00 for our last tryout TODAY.
Thank you to all the girls who came to tryout this year.

* Wrestling
It's finally that time of the year again Crusaders! Our wrestling season is here! If you were unable to attend the meeting on Monday, please talk to Mr. Wihak (Room 373) or Mrs. Bray (Phys Ed) to grab the information! Practices will begin Monday, November 25th in the North Gym from 3:30-5:15. We practice Monday to Friday every week. All are welcome; there are no tryouts or cuts! Try something new and be a part of a very special group and a championship program!
* Junior Boys Basketball Tryouts
Junior boys’ basketball tryouts: Be ready and changed out by 5:00pm. The gym you will be trying out in will be posted on the gym doors.

School Nurse
Our school nurse, Tori Meijer will be here Monday afternoons from 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm. The school nurse can help you with the following:
- Confidential one-on-one student supports with medical & health related matters.
- Referrals to other community agencies/supports.
- General first-aid
- Confidential pregnancy testing and other supports as needed.
Students can also text the school nurse at 306-230-2483. Look for the school nurse sign in the hallway and stop in to ask a question, book an appointment or to just say hello!
